Hi, I'm Kivan.
I'm running for Congress in District 18 because I believe that our country can dream big and build a better society

I'm a proud, naturalized citizen.
I grew up in Baytown and live near Emancipation Park. I know the value of public investment from attending public schools, relying on local libraries, exercising in public parks, and having my graduate education supported by the National Science Foundation. I understand how sowing investments into individuals and communities leads to a society that reaps the rewards of capable citizens and nurturing neighborhoods. I was a Senior Policy Advisor to Judge Lina Hidalgo where I led initiatives to reduce homelessness, expand affordable housing, and modernize government systems by leveraging research and data analysis to design smarter, more responsive policies. My background is at the intersection of public policy, statistical analysis, and technology.
I'm running to create a government that works for everyone
I've witnessed first hand the challenges faced by working families. I'm committed to ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. I support:
- Universal Healthcare
- A living wage and strong union rights
- Affordable housing and public education for all
- Campaign finance reform to reduce the outsized influence of special interests
